Interoperability standards

The Ghana Enterprise Architecture defines how public platforms exchange data and authenticate users.

Pre-connection review

Standards are what stop digital government fragmenting into disconnected systems. NITA publishes the architecture and the technical standards that platforms must implement: API patterns, message formats, identity and authentication, and data classification.

New platforms are assessed against the standard before they connect to the eGovernment network or consume shared services.

Process

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Design review

Submit architecture and integration design ahead of build.

  2. Step 2

    Conformance

Test against the published API, identity and message standards.

  3. Step 3

    Connect

Approved platforms are onboarded to shared services and the network.

  4. Step 4

    Review

Periodic re-conformance as standards are revised.
