The GEDW gives every Ghanaian a single, verifiable place to keep documents issued by the state — certificates, licences, permits and attestations — and to present them without producing a paper original.
NITA sets the trust framework: which institutions may issue credentials, how they are cryptographically signed under the national PKI, and how a citizen grants or withdraws consent when a document is shared.
The pilot runs with a first cohort of issuing agencies while the accompanying regulations are consulted on publicly.
